What Is AI Search Visibility?
AI search visibility describes whether and how a brand or website appears in AI search answers. It can include a name in the text, a recommendation or a linked source; those are separate observations.
Understand the different forms of presence
An assistant can name a product without linking to it, or cite a guide without recommending its publisher. Read the context before treating either as a positive result. A numerical position in a list may not represent an explicit ranking.
Measure a defined sample
Choose questions that reflect a buyer task and record the engine, date and settings. Count completed answers and inspect the original wording. A rate across your prompt sample does not estimate all customer conversations or total market reach.
Use the findings to improve information
Look for inaccurate product facts, missing buying details and useful explanations your site lacks. Correct those issues for readers and review later observations. Monitoring can guide investigation; it cannot reveal every internal selection rule or guarantee a change.

Google's guidance for AI features explains the requirements for its own search experiences. For a worked process, read the related practical guide. Apply engine-specific documentation to that engine, rather than treating it as a rule for every assistant.
