FAQ schema generator

Write the questions and answers that appear on your page. Get clean FAQPage JSON-LD to copy, with a live preview.

Questions and answers

Answers must match what is on the page. Only mark up questions and answers that visitors can see. Since 2023, Google shows FAQ rich results mainly for well-known government and health sites, so treat the markup as clear structure for search engines and AI, not a guaranteed visual.

Paste the code into the page’s <head> or body, then test it with Google’s Rich Results Test or the Schema.org validator.

Step by step

How to use this

  1. Use real questions buyers ask. Pull them from sales calls, support tickets, reviews or the buyer prompt generator.
  2. Write each answer as a direct reply in the first sentence, then add the detail. Keep it identical to the visible text on the page.
  3. Check the Preview tab to read it the way a visitor would.
  4. Copy the JSON-LD and add it to the same page as the visible FAQ.

What to do next

  1. Test the page in Google’s Rich Results Test to confirm the markup is valid.
  2. Make sure the FAQ is visible and not hidden behind a login or script that crawlers cannot run.
  3. Ask the same questions in ChatGPT and Perplexity after a few weeks, and check whether your page is cited.
  4. Track those questions over time in Seeqly.
FAQ

Common questions

Does FAQ schema still help if Google rarely shows FAQ rich results?

It can. The markup gives a clear, machine-readable version of your questions and answers. It will not guarantee a visual result in Google, but clear question and answer structure on the page is useful for search engines and AI assistants reading it.

Can I add FAQ schema to every page?

Only where the page has a genuine FAQ that visitors can see. Do not mark up content that is not on the page, and do not use FAQPage for questions users submit and answer, which is a different type.

Can I use HTML in answers?

Google allows a small set of basic tags such as links, lists and bold text in answers. Plain text is the safest choice and is what this tool outputs.
